Intro

Culinary history, family history, friends, family, traditions, new and old, the impact of food upon our lives and our memories entwine into a wonderfully complex and diverse labyrinth.....It ties us to our past, ties us to our future. Food creates an amazing web, an intricate design, a wealth of knowledge we can dive into and through just the simple act of cooking and eating, we can connect with our ancestors both ancient and more recent. We can conjure memories, experiences, feelings. Scenes from the past still live through aromas, through tastes, through love and remembrance...

This blog is just my tiny little droplet in an vast ocean of blogs out there, but it's all mine. My interests lie not only in the past but the future and how what we eat impacts our health and daily life. I truly believe that the closer any food is to it's natural state, the better for us it is...(Yes, I know, that's pretty obvious)
I try to seek out the freshest and if I can, most local foods available. I have a husband who enjoys a good meal as much as anyone but has his limitations when it comes to eating an overly healthy diet. He enjoys experimenting with food to a certain point but I find keeping things healthy and interesting and fresh challenging at times.
I love trying new things, new recipes and (although I have my limitations as well) am almost willing to try anything at least once...I think.
So with this brief introduction to who I am..this is thyme after time...
