Move over Sloppy Joe, there's a new kid in town and she's messier than you. Her name's Maria and she's not scared to make a mess.
So, where did this Messy Maria come from? She arrived one day drinking her tequila and V-8. She decided she wanted to do more with her life than just shots of tequila with vegetable juice and hot sauce. She needed substance and some meat.....
It may not be a pretty transition, it might be a little sloppy but a Messy Maria is better than a Bloody Maria any day.
Save the tequila for margaritas.
Have the V-8 and the Tabasco, but have it for dinner!
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs Ground Beef
1 Onion, Chopped
1/2 Green Pepper, Chopped
1/2 Red Pepper, Chopped
2 Tbs Tomato Paste
3/4 Cup Bloody Mary Mix OR
(1 small can V-8)
1/3 Cup Ketchup
A Few Dashes Worcestershire Sauce
A Few Dashes Hot Sauce
1 Chipotle Pepper in Adobe Sauce, Diced
Salt/Pepper
Tortillas or Sandwich Buns
American Cheese Slices
Sautee Peppers and onions, seasoning with a little salt and pepper.
Brown ground beef over medium heat, seasoning with salt and pepper.
Drain very well.
Add tomato paste and stir, letting the tomato paste and the ground beef combine well.
Add the sautéed onions and peppers.
Add the Bloody Mary Mix (or V-8).
Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, chipotle pepper.
Combine well and adjust seasonings to taste.
Serve with tortillas, buns and American Cheese.
Sweet potato fries and margaritas..
And plenty of napkins
and eat well, my friends....
